Introduction to Corfu - Ipsos
Few of the numerous resorts on the Greek island of Corfu are as lively or large as Ipsos, 15kms north of Corfu Town. The coasts of Albania and mainland Greece can both be easily seen from the large bay where Ipsos is situated, and most Ipsos hotels are rated three star and tend to cost less than those in Corfu Town. Many of this island's visitors spend their nights partying at its large array of nightclubs and bars before recuperating on the sun beds in front of the kilometer-long beach. This beach is clean, child friendly, filled with water sports, and free of sea urchins. Despite the reputation of Ipsos as primarily a party destination, growing numbers of young families and couples seeking romantic getaways are choosing to come here. The side of the beach closest to the harbour is more peaceful than the end next to the main road, which is lined with shops, tavernas, and cocktail bars.
