Introduction to Arkoudi, Greece
Arkoudi is a tiny traditional fishing village in the Greek Peloponnese region. Its sweeping sandy beach is quiet and pretty, perfect for travellers seeking an uncrowded getaway with a touch of culture. The Roman baths of Loutra Killini are nearby and the most significant attraction around Arkoudi. Ancient Olympia is also just outside the village, offering visitors a chance to explore the remains of one of Greece's most important cities. Its amphitheatre and classical columns still stand in excellent condition. Chlemutsi Castle is much more contemporary, but still worth a visit for a different view of the cultural timeline of this region of Greece. With only a couple of inns and hotels in Arkoudi to choose from, visitors may want to consider booking ahead if planning to travel during peak holiday periods.
