Archontiko Mesohori Hotel - Kalambaka

The Archontiko Mesohori Hotel, Kalambaka, may be housed within a historic 19th century building, but nonetheless boasts many modern conveniences. All of its spacious suites are named after Greek goddesses, including a honeymoon suite Aphrodite, named after the famous Greek goddess of love. Wooden floors, elegant furniture, cosy fireplaces and king sized beds are also included in each traditionally decorated suite. The majestic Meteora rocks and their monasteries may all be seen from all suites, and so too can the Pindos mountains. Another fireplace burns each evening in the common lounge's seating area, but the furnished courtyard is the preferred relaxation spot in warmer weather. Daily homemade breakfasts can be enjoyed in either location. The town of Kalambaka lies 1km away, while all 21 Meteora are under a 10 minute drive away.

The main bar and breakfast area is on the ground floor. The original stone and wood features of the house are visible and create a warm atmosphere, where guests can enjoy their breakfast, coffee or refreshment.

The lobby is small and decorated with various traditional handicraft items, and a corridor leads to the main bar. The family who owns the traditional house will welcome you in a variety of European languages.

It is a 19th century grade listed rural townhouse, completely restored its original glory and beyond in 2007. All the original elements such as stone masonry walls, wooden beams and the terra-cotta roof are preserved.
