Amalia Hotel Kalambaka - Greece

Only traditional materials were used to build the Amalia Hotel Kalambaka. All rooms in this resort, 5kms outside the town of Kalambaka, offer breathtaking views of either the 1,000 year old Meteora rock formations or the establishment's extensive surrounding greenery. All are also filled with dark wood furniture and include balconies or terraces. A couple of larger suites may also be rented. The resort's magnificent lobby is elaborately decorated in iron and wood, while 2 fireplaces burn in the piano bar and café. The latter overlooks the establishment's swimming pool. Theopetra Restaurant serves a rich American breakfast each morning, while the smaller Polythea Restaurant is decorated in cool blue shades. Over 800 people fit into the adjacent conference facility's 6 meeting rooms, but up to 400 people can gather around the swimming pool and its garden.

The restaurant is in good condition and is reached by descending stairs from reception. The menu is reasonable with a good choice of dishes.

The entrance hall is very large and quite simply designed, although not unattractive, furnished with very basic furniture with some traditional Greek touches.

The hotel has a large driveway with ample parking facilities for both buses and cars. It is a 2 storey building assembled in a basic construction and is quite bland.
