It is opposite to Athens National Park, and is an easy walk from the Acropolis and lively, historic Plaka shopping and coffee shop area. The Amalia Hotel Athens has modern and attractive decor, comfortable rooms, and has a roof top, Acropolis view garden, that is open during the summer.

As the hotel has recently reopened after a full renovation rooms are decorated to a high standard in a contemporary style. They are a good size and offer all the amenities expected of a hotel of this class. Facilities include: air conditioning, flat screen televisions with satellite channels, telephone, safe, internet access, and mini bar. The marble bathrooms have bathrobes, hair dryers and amenities.

There is a lobby lounge overlooking the National Gardens serving drinks and light snacks throughout the day. The main restaurant is on the mezzanine level offering a selection of Greek and International dishes. During the summer, the roof top garden is open serving snacks and drinks and boasting fantastic views of the Acropolis.

A new facade was put on the hotel during the renovation giving it a modern look.
