Bus services connect Hamburg with Amsterdam, Berlin, Copenhagen, Paris and Prague. If you choose to drive here, the A1 (from Lubeck-Bremen) and the A7 (from Hanover-Kiel) cross just south of the city.
By air: Hamburg Airport is located north-west of the city and is an important regional hub. It is served by numerous flights from other cities in Germany and Europe, as well as a substantial number of transatlantic routes.
Trains from the north of Germany, including Schleswig and Westerland arrive at Altona. The connections between the two stations are good, both by train and S-Bahn service. Trains connecting Hamburg with all major German cities and points in continental Europe run frequently.
By bus: buses connect Hamburg with Amsterdam, Berlin, Copenhagen, Paris, Prague and some cities in Eastern Europe. Services arrive at Hamburg's central bus station (ZOB), located within walking distance of the city’s mail railway station (Hauptbahnhof).
