Although it has a rather staid image, Frankfurt also has a lively club scene and the seedier side of the city’s nightlife is found on the Kaiserstrasse artery and surrounding area.

The city’s Appelwoi taverns are a dying breed, but there are still a few to be found as you roam the streets of Alt Sachsenhausen, around Affentorplatz. Many bars have live music on offer, with jazz being particularly popular. The best venues are found around Kleine Bockenheimer Strasse, also known Jazz Alley.

The nearest casino is the Bad Homburg Casino, located in the spa town of Bad Homburg, just to the north of Frankfurt. Table gambling is on offer from 15:00 -03:00. Dress code is smart, with a jacket and tie required for men.
