Bonn Travel Guide - Getting There

By air: Koln/Bonn Airport is the nearest airport, 20kms north of the city (30 minutes by bus). Dusseldorf Airport can be reached in a little over an hour by train and Frankfurt, with its busy air hub, is a popular choice for long haul visitors. A train connection is then the easiest way of transferring to Bonn.
By car: the German autobahns make travelling by car quick and easy. These high-speed motorways link all of the main cities with the main access to Bonn being via the A565 autobahn, connecting with the A3 from the north or south.
By bus: long distance buses are available from hundreds of European cities with Eurolines. It is a convenient and cheap way to travel, but can be slow depending on your starting point. There is also an extensive network of buses that run between Bonn and other centres throughout Germany.
