Nightlife

Nightlife in Berlin
Today, the city’s biggest draws are the clubs that have grown out of the techno scene, many housed in abandoned buildings in the former ‘no-go’ area of the East-West border. If this type of manic dance music is not what you’re looking for, there are plenty of alternatives on offer in the city’s more traditional clubs and discos.
Berlin also has the reputation of being a leader in avant-garde theatre, as reflected in the array of small, experimental theatre groups making their home here. The scene is an active one, but you are advised that many companies schedule an annual break during July and August.
These offices are open during normal working hours, accept credit-card bookings and also charge a steep commission of up to 17 per cent of the ticket price. For fringe theatre and the more obscure offerings, the best place to try for tickets is Hekticket.
