Introduction to Wiesbaden - City Centre
Wiesbaden, capital of Germany’s Hesse state, is a historic spa city. For many centuries, people have visited Wiesbaden to partake of the health benefits from the city’s spa waters. The tourist appeal stretches back at least as far as Roman times. Hotels in Wiesbaden can easily be reached through various means. Taxis from Frankfurt Airport can be quite expensive but the train service is very cheap and quite quick. High-speed ICE trains from Frankfurt, Cologne and other destinations are very quick but the ICE station is a bit farther away from hotels in Wiesbaden. Most of the attractions of central Wiesbaden can easily be enjoyed on foot. Many streets are pedestrian only and are lined with shops, cafes and restaurants. The excellent bus system makes it easy to travel from Wiesbaden hotels to destinations around the city and outskirts. The city spas are one of the big attractions and are easy to reach.
