Introduction to Weimar - City Centre
The small city of Weimar is a favourite location for German tourists who come to the old city for a short weekend break. It has plenty of historical significance, with Goethe and Schiller being its most famous citizens. The central German town is easily reached by rail from Berlin or Leipzig. The city centre is an interesting place to wander and here visitors will find Weimar hotels in abundance. Parts of the city centre are designated as UNESCO World Heritage areas, and a few of the hotels in Weimar have been converted from old historical buildings around the Goetheplatz.
