Situated on the Danube in Lower Bavaria, in the east of Germany, Neustadt Donau is a small town with less than 15,000 inhabitants. It is primarily known for Bad Gogging, a thermal spa designed to help people decompress and revitalise themselves. Visitors also come to the town year on year in order to relax, play golf, and enjoy the tranquility of the German countryside. Neustadt Donau hotels are a mixture of old traditional German buildings and more modern resorts, some of which are connected to golf courses. Down the road from Neustadt Donau is the Bavarian Forest, which offers trekking opportunities and other outdoor activities such as boating, canoeing, cycling and camping. It is also possible to go boating along the Danube. Neustadt Donau is most popular with tourists in the summer, since many of the outdoor pursuits aren't possible in the winter.
