Introduction to Mainz - City Centre
The German city of Mainz is located in the west of the country’s centre, in the state of Rhineland-Palatinate. Sitting along the River Rhone, Mainz was once the northernmost point of the Roman Empire. Mainz hotels are available to suit differing budgets and offer excellent access to the city of Wiesbaden, which lies across the Rhone River. As the city has a history stretching back some 2,000 years, many of the tourists who stay overnight will be keen to explore this rich heritage. Gutenberg, the inventor of the movable type printing press, first produced books with this technology in Mainz in the mid-15th century. Travellers arriving by air will usually fly to Frankfurt, from where they can drive or use local trains to reach hotels. Mainz is an excellent city for walking tours. There is a great supply of bars, restaurants, cafes, shops, galleries, museums and more.other spellings: mianzcity centre otel, mainz citycentre hotell, citycentre minz hote, maiz hotle cty centre
