Introduction to Hochenschwand, Germany
Hochenschwand is a town in the far south of Germany, near the Swiss border. Part of the Black Forest region, the town is located in one of the most scenic parts of Germany. Travellers can get here by flying to Zurich (34 miles away) or by taking a train to Seebrugg (eight miles away). The town's high plateau location ensures that most Hochenschwand hotels offer fantastic views of the Alps. Other excellent views are offered by Rothaus Zapfle Turm, the town's lookout tower. This tower also has its own climbing wall. Some of the town's accommodation specialises in spa services and wellness retreats, meaning that many of the town's guests are here for relaxation and recuperation. On the other hand, outdoor types can enjoy hiking and walking on the high plateau as well as in the wooded valleys. Hochenschwand is a year-round resort. In the winter, travellers can go cross-country skiing instead of hiking. Alternatively, they can use the resort as a base for visiting Feldberg, which offers downhill-skiing opportunities. Feldberg is just over 10 miles from the resort. other spellings: hochenschwandhotels, hochenschwan otel, hotellin hochinschwand, hohenschwand
