Introduction to Hannover - Airport
Hannover Airport is an international air hub serving the city of Hannover, located some 10kms south. On the airport’s complex are four terminals and a cargo facility, with routes running to most European major cites and a good number of southern European and North African holiday destinations. The airport is also a major air hub for flights to the former Soviet Bloc countries. Low-cost carriers including Germanwings provide many seasonal routes as well as domestic flights and the airport is one of the few in Germany offering 24-hour service. The terminals offer all the usual traveller amenities including: extensive parking and car hire facilities; a good choice of restaurants, bars and shops; duty-free stores; and internet access. A permanent aviation exhibition helps passengers to while away waiting times and airport tours for visitors are interesting.
