Introduction to Halle, Germany
The large historic city of Halle, once a centre for salt production, has long been receiving visitors from all over the globe, and there is certainly no shortage of amenities to be found here. One of the most popular activities among tourists is taking one of the Reederei Riedel River tours, which last for around 45 minutes and offer visitors the chance to see most of the city's impressive buildings such as its churches, cathedral and Giebichenstein Castle, perched on a hill overlooking the river, in style and comfort. The city was the birthplace of composer Georg Friedrich Handel, and the city really comes to life in the second week of June, when the annual Handel Festival is held. A visit to Handel House museum, housed in a building that was the composer's birthplace, is in order for visitors interested in old musical instruments. Many of the leading Halle hotels are located close to the Saale River, offering enchanting views from their large picture windows and balconies. Just a short drive away from the town is Leipzig/Halle Airport, which is the largest airport in the whole of eastern Germany. other spellings: hallehotels, halle otel, halle hotell, halle hote, halle hotes
