Hahn, located in the Rhineland-Palatinate region of western Germany, is a municipality of less than 200 people. The town is best known for hosting Frankfurt-Hahn Airport, a former military airport and NATO airbase. The name of the airport is a little misleading, given that Frankfurt is actually over 60 miles away. Nowadays, the airport caters to low-cost flights, especially those operated by Ryanair. However, the airport has a modern terminal offering passengers a range of shops, bars and car rental suppliers. There are several Hahn hotels near the airport which are most useful for passengers departing early or arriving late. Guests who spend a little longer here can enjoy some of the town's historical attractions, such as St Anthony's Simultaneous Church and An der Gass 15, a turn of the 19th century timber-framed house known for its distinctive roofing. The church dates back to the 13th century, but has some additions from the late Gothic period. Travellers can get here by taking a bus to the terminal from Frankfurt city centre or from the city's main international airport.
