Introduction to Fussen, Germany
Fussen is a Bavarian town on the River Lech, three kilometres north of Germany’s border with Austria. The Gothic High Castle (Hohes Schloss) is Fussen’s landmark and is adjacent to the river. A wide selection of Fussen hotels are found in the environs of the castle, especially close to Bahnhofstrasse (Station Road). Some of the hotels in Fussen are majestic edifices and offer services and amenities to match. The River Lech empties into the Forggensee, a photogenic reservoir lake that offers sailing, windsurfing and swimming in the summer months. There are a number of Fussen hotels on the lakeside close to the river’s mouth. The famed Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau castles are just outside the city limits. The region around Fussen gets busy in the winter months due to skiers travelling to local resorts. Some skiers use hotels in Fussen as a base. Other accommodation options in the region are ski chalets and self catering apartments.other spellings: fusen otel, fusson hotell, fassen hote, fussen hotle, fusen hotes
