Introduction to Dortmund - City Centre
Few cities in the world contain larger percentages of green space within their limits than Germany's eighth most populated city, Dortmund. The steel and coal mills which once dominated the landscape of the city centre have now been largely replaced by parks, waterways and woodland areas. In fact, almost half of Dortmund's entire area now consists of green spaces, earning the city its Green Metropolis nickname. Most Dortmund City Centre hotels boast breathtaking views of historic churches, such as the Gothic Marienkirche and the Reinoldikirche, and are within walking distance of most city centre attractions. These include Dortmund's zoo, the Rosarium rose garden and the 13th century Haus Bodelschwingh castle, which comes complete with its own moat. The city's most renowned museums include the Museum of Art and Cultural History and the 20th century art exhibited at the Museum am Ostwall. Much of Germany's famous beer is produced in the city, which contains its own brewery museum.other spellings: city centre dotmund otel, dorhmund city center hotell, hote in drotmund citycentre
