Introduction to Dinkelsbuehl, Germany
Dinkelsbuehl is a medieval city in the Bavaria region of southern Germany. As such, most of the city's attractions are of a historical nature. A good place to begin a city tour is the Marketplace, which is home to the Deutsches Haus. This wooden building, built in the 15th century, is one of the city's finest examples of German Renaissance architecture. A short walk from the house is the best example of the city's Gothic architecture, St George's Minster. Like many of the city's famous buildings, it was also built in the 15th century, and is considered a masterpiece by many. The best museum in the city is the House of History, located on the premises of the 14th century Steinerne Haus. Visitors have the opportunity to see reconstructions of Dinkelsbuehl's ancient houses as well as the museum's own historical findings. Travellers can reach Dinkelsbuehl hotels by taking a train from Munich to Ansbach. From Ansbach, there are regular buses to the historic city centre.
