Brodhausen is a northwestern suburb of Germany's Freilassing. It sits to the south of Wasserburger Strasse, which divides the district from that of Lohen, to the north. There are a handful of Brodhausen hotels and restaurants in the immediate area catering to visitors who wish to stay out of the busy Bavarian commercial centre, yet close to the major Austrian city of Salzburg, just across the border to the southeast, on the eastern bank of the Saalach River, and the nearby Alps, to the east and the south. One of the best ways to get to know the area is to hire a bicycle and cycle all the way to Salzburg, a journey of around 35 minutes, via the excellent bike paths that cover the region. With no major tourist attractions, Brodhausen is more of a convenient jumping-off point for more exciting nearby destinations than a holiday spot in its own right. Yet there are one or two interesting features for those passing through to check out including the Stadtmuseum (Town Museum), the Rathaus (Town Hall) and various fountains.
