Home to the oldest amateur theatre in the world, Biberach in Germany's Upper Swabia is a pleasant place to absorb German culture in a countryside setting. The old theatre has played a large role in the cultural development of Biberach, and now there is an annual film festival and music events throughout the year. There are a series of museums dedicated to German film and the history of the region.
