Introduction to Berlin - Mitte
Translating into English as ‘the middle’, Berlin’s Mitte district is the centre of the city and the most important district for tourism. This central district was once part of the infamous East Berlin and was almost entirely encompassed by the Berlin Wall. Today, the River Spree is the only thing that splits the district.
