Introduction to Papeete, French Polynesia

Papeete is the capital of the beautiful group of islands known as French Polynesia. These islands, situated in the warm blue waters in the south of the Pacific, are known as a French Overseas Territory. It is located on the island of Tahiti, arguably the region's most famous island. As well as a centre for politics and industry and is also a centre for culture in the region and is an absolute favourite amongst visitors to the area. Hotels in Papeete are of course available throughout the year and can offer a range of accommodation. Papeete Harbour is a popular destination for cruise shops to stop off at. While some visitors will go on to stay locally in establishments many make a quick stop off to visit and perhaps to some shopping at the market before moving on to other resorts. During high season, you should consider booking in advance for the lodgings just to be absolutely sure.
