Paris Travel Guide

Introduction

Overview & Introduction to Paris
Aside from the obligatory visit to the Eiffel Tower, there is plenty to see and do in Paris. The Louvre Museum is one of the most famous art galleries in the world, in no small part due to the presence of Leonardo da Vinci’s Mona Lisa, but there are also many other significant works of art here. With museums dedicated to the work of Picasso and Rodin, among many others, Paris is something of an art lover’s paradise.
The legendary Champs-Elysees is packed with exclusive shops and cafes and links two of Paris’s most popular attractions; Place de la Concorde and the Arc de Triomphe. A stroll around this area on a mild summer night is particularly pleasant.
To take a break from the city, there is plenty to do in the surrounding area, with Disneyland Paris a great day out for the kids, and the splendid Palace of Versailles certainly worth a trip. The nightlife scene is good and a visit to the world famous Moulin Rouge is on many people’s list of must do things here.
As a significant international destination, Paris has excellent transport links with Europe and beyond; two international airports, an extensive road network and good railways make the city easily accessible.
