By air: Paris’s two international airports, Charles de Gaulle and Orly, make the city easily accessible from around the world. Both airports offer flights to many destinations across Europe, as well as other connections to Asia, Africa, Australasia and North America. Both airports offer good transport links into the city, Charles de Gaulle has a TGV link, although if travelling by road you should give plenty of time as there can be a lot of traffic congestion.
By car: France has an excellent road network and Paris is easily reached from all directions. There are three ring roads circling the city including the A86 motorway, the Peripherique and the A104 (known as the Francilienne motorway).
By train: France’s railways are generally of an excellent standard and thus, Paris can be easily reached from all major French cities as well as many European capitals. There is an extensive network of high-speed TGV trains, alongside regular trains and the Eurostar that runs from London to Paris.
Paris has a number of different stations, the most significant being Gare du Nord, Gare de l'Est, Gare de Lyon, Gare Montparnasse, Gare Saint-Lazare and Gare d'Austerlitz. All of these stations have connections to the Paris Metro.
