May Festivals
Paris Jazz Festival: the Paris Jazz Festival is an internationally respected event, attracting many top jazz musicians and fans from across the globe to the city every May.
May/June Festivals
Roland Garros: for many, the most prestigious event on the tennis calendar takes place on the famous red clay at Roland Garros Stadium, when for two weeks every May or June, of the year the world’s finest players battle it out to win the most gruelling of tennis’s Grand Slams.
July Festivals
Bastille Day: every year on 14 July, the people of Paris celebrate the French national day, the anniversary of the storming of the Bastille, with military parades, fireworks, and other colourful displays.
Le Tour de France: the world’s most famous cycle race, held every July, finishes on the Champs Elysees, the only day (apart from Bastille Day) that the road is closed.
Nouveau Beaujolais Fair (Fete du Beaujolais Nouveau): a popular festival with wine lovers, on the third Tuesday of November, the first available Beaujolais Nouveau of the season are celebrated at wine bars and cafes across the city.
