Charles de Gaulle Airport, sometimes known as Roissy, is the major airport here and is located 26kms northeast of Paris. Charles de Gaulle has three airport terminals, with terminal three for charter and low cost airlines.
Orly, located 16kms south of the city, was the primary airport in Paris prior to the open of Roissy and is still a significant airport today. There are two terminals here; the majority of airlines operate from the south terminal, with the west terminal predominantly used by Air France, although Iberia and TAP Portugal also operate flights from here.
Both these airports have good facilities, as you would expect of any significant international airport. There are excellent shopping and eating options, as well as the usual facilities such as banks, bureaux de change, ATMs, a post office and internet access. There are also first class lounges, business facilities, baby-changing rooms, medical services on hand, and ample parking.
Paris Beauvais Tille Airport is a small airport that is the base for Ryanair in Paris, and is considered Paris’s third airport, although transport to the city takes around 75 minutes.
There are also plenty of taxis available, with the journey usually taking around 30 minutes, although this depends on the time of day and traffic conditions. It is also possible to take a free shuttle to the closes RER station and from there take a train into the city, with a journey time of about 30 minutes.
Orly Airport also has regular buses into the city, leaving every 12 minutes between 06:00 and 23:30; the journey should take about 30 minutes. There are door-to-door shuttle services which can be booked in advance through Airport Shuttle or Paris Airports Services. Taxis are straightforward and convenient from here and as at Charles de Gaulle; there is a free shuttle bus to the nearest RER station for trains into the city.
