Cycling: is very popular in the South West of France and cycling enthusiasts will find a variety of challenging routes. It is possible to bike up to the mountains, through the scented pine forests and around the foothills of the Pyrenees, all promising spectacular views.
Horse riding: if you travel with children, taking them on an exploration on horseback is a must. Horse riding can be done around the forests and pretty hills of the Pyrenees. Several centres around town offer special horse-riding courses for children.
Hiking: the renowned Pyrenees National Park is an excellent spot for hiking. Within a driving distance from the city centre, the park provides breathtaking natural sceneries, charming valleys and small rivers. You might even spot some bears if you are lucky.
Cave exploring: if adventures thrill you, go cave exploring in one of many caves in Lourdes in the hamlet of Aste. Les Grottes de Medous is one of the remarkable caves formed by an underground river. A boat trip into the caves is also a fun experience.
Lourdes Market: is home to a wide range of souvenirs including fragile fuchsia, inky-blue blooms, local sweets made from honey, sheep's-milk cheeses, and many other gastronomic specialties.
