Every corner of the town is full of surprises. Walk around the city and you might find a secret cosy little eatery. Lille is also home to one of the heartiest festivals in Europe, La Braderie, where people from around the world gather to sell their wares.
Le Musee d'Art Moderne: features a wide selection of remarkable paintings from world-famous artists including Picasso, Miro, Modigliani and Braque and the like. An impressive collection of contemporary art by local and foreign artists is also on display here.
Le Musee de Charles-de-Gaulles: exhibits various items that once belonged to the famous president. A guided tour shows you around the fortifications built by Vauban from 1667 to 1670.
Vieille Bourse: is one of the trendy areas in Lille and is located between two picturesque squares, Place du General-de-Gaulle and Place du Theatre. A bell-tower offers interesting views over the bustling area.
Place General de Gaulle: welcomes visitors to its pretty square with a fountain standing proud at the centre of the square surrounded by many lovely old houses and an array of hanging flower pots.
