You’ll be sure to see lots of glamorous international celebrities and you may even be able to get in on the action, dining and partying at venues where some of the stars turn up. Even on the sidelines, you can join the local and international paparazzi and experience Cannes as it is only during the Film Festival.
Dining: the dining opportunities in Cannes are famed throughout the world. You can plan your own tasting tour suited to you own preferences, sampling dishes from as many of the world’s cuisines as you have time for. Not only is the food excellent, the venues alone are worth the visit.
Iles de Lerins: is a small archipelago just off the Cannes coast, where you’ll see two main islands: Saint-Honorat and Sainte-Marguerite. Excursions to the islands leave from Cannes pier every 15 minutes, weather permitting. The islands allow foot traffic only. During the summer, there are evening presentations of the history of the islands, by means of a sound-and-light show.
Jane's Club: is very plush and is also Cannes’ oldest nightclub, where you can dance through the night. Something is always going on here, go-go dancing, revivals of the 1960s, 70s and 80s, or other sorts of themed nights.
Sailing: even if you’re a novice, you can take lessons at one of the area’s sailing schools. This can be a wonderful activity for families, which even the youngest members can enjoy. Courses from beginner to advanced levels are offered by the area sailing schools or you can opt for a sunset cruise, with others doing all the work for you. The Centre Nautique Municipal is public facility in Cannes. The best season for sailing and lessons is June through until September.
Swimming: at one of Cannes’ famous beaches. You can work on developing a deeper tan, enjoy a delicious lunch, or just relax and watch the parade of people passing by. During the summer, fireworks illuminate the skies above the main beach.
