Attractions in Cannes
Compagnie Maritime Cannoise: operates boat tours giving visitors the chance to see the famous Lerin Islands, along with a variety of other destinations along the Mediterranean coast worthy of note. There’s also a submarine trip on offer, giving visitors the opportunity to see life under the sea.
Parc Zoologique de Frejus: was originally designed to be a traditional zoo, but it has been re-developed as a safari park, where visitors can make the tour around the park in their own vehicles. Natural habitats have been re-created to simulate the actual environments of the animal residents, encouraging them to live as they would in the wild.
Galimard: is a world-famous perfumery offering visitors the opportunity to tour a working facility while gaining an in-depth insight into France’s multimillion-dollar industry. Tours take visitors into laboratories where the scents are mixed, explaining how these elusive ingredients are used in making perfume. For those who are interested, the master perfumier will help you create your own scent.
Ile Saint-Honorat: is an island off Cannes that was named after Honoratus, the monk responsible for founding a monastery there in the early part of the 5th century.
Ile Sainte-Marguerite: is the sister island to Ile Saint-Honorat and the larger of the two. Situated just off the coast from Cannes, Ile Sainte-Marguerite offers visitors a maritime museum, beautiful rocky shores, and groves of shady oaks and pines. There’s also a fort to see, standing since the 17th century, when it was built to keep out Spanish invaders.
Parc Phoenix: is also known as the Phoenix Botanical Gardens, where visitors can enjoy the stunning flowers. There’s a wide variety of plants and flowers here as well as the largest greenhouse in Europe.
