Hotel du Palais: is the oldest and most famous landmark in Biarritz and was constructed by Empress Eugenie in the 19th century. A number of famous guests have stayed here including Edward VII. This working hotel can be visited by non residents who are interested in its history and architecture.
Eglise St-Martin: is another church which is a popular attraction. The style of this church is unique in that it dates back to the 12th century yet has a number of Gothic additions which were added in the 16th century. It is free to enter and open to the public seven days a week.
Quai de la Grande Plage: is the city's main beach and promenade. This is where most holidaymakers head for during the hot summer months. There are plenty of activities on offer as well as many shops and restaurants on the promenade.
