Introduction to Villersexel, France
Villersexel is a small city of around 2,000 people in eastern France. Its main attraction is Villersexel Castle, one of the most historic buildings in the country. It is located at the heart of the city and is easily accessible from the Swiss border by taking the A36. Alternatively, travellers can approach from the west on the A36, via Burgundy. Built in the early 1870s, the castle is not only a historical attraction, but it hosts one of the most well-known Villersexel hotels. Previously, the castle has catered to all manner of famous guests, such as Winston Churchill and Charles de Gaulle. Besides providing accommodation, the privately-owned castle hosts weddings and shows, while its meeting rooms are popular for conferences. However, visitors to the city don't have to stay here or attend an event in order to get a taste of the castle's atmosphere. There is a small museum on the premises which is open to the public.
