Introduction to Tours - Chambray les Tours
The suburb of Chambray-les-Tours is filled with green open spaces, footpaths and bicycle trails, and is an ideal place to use as a base for exploring the large city of Tours. Found just south of the city centre, on the opposite side of the Cher River, Chambray-les-Tours is home to the Francois Rabelais University and the Municipal School of Music, both of which are esteemed music academies. There are some fantastic Chambray-les-Tours hotels that are all just minutes away from Tour's city centre by car, making it extremely easy to spend days exploring the city's many sights and attractions without having to stay in the busy heart of the action. A walk through the old city of Place Plumereau is a must, as it is filled with narrow streets lined with impressive medieval buildings. The Saint Gatien Cathedral is the main focal point of the city and no trip to Tours is complete without a visit here.
