Introduction to Strasbourg - City Centre
As capital of the Alsace region of France, Strasbourg is a busy hub famed for its historic centre. The city centre was the first to be protected by UNESCO World Heritage. Strasbourg receives a constant flow of tourists and it has a good range of Strasbourg hotels to accommodate their needs. Notre Dame Cathedral was built between the 12th and 15th centuries and is the city’s architectural highlight. Inside it features the Astronomic Clock. The Musee Alsacien is a great starting point for first-time visitors to the city with its exhibits on life in the city from the 13th to the 19th centuries. Not much to look at from the outside, the work that goes on in the buildings that make up the European District is of huge significance. Visitors who arrive in December will find Christmas markets all over the city selling gifts, mulled wine and seasonal treats.other spellings: city canter, city senter, city center hotels, strasbourg city center hotels
