Located in central France, the town of Puy Guillaume is found in the Puy-de-Dome department, Auvergne. The town has a small population of about 2,600 citizens and is compact in size. There are several major roads located within the town, including the D63, D906, D114 and the D343, making it easy for tourists to get into and around the township by car. The D906 connects the town to the A89 some 16kms to the south, which lead directly into the town of Clermont-Ferrand, which stands about 30kms to the southwest of the commune. There are a number of restaurants and cafes found within the centre of the town, not to mention about half a dozen Puy Guillaume hotels. There is a golf course located in the northwestern area of the town, which is actually a rather busy golf links for the Pue-de-Dome department. There is a railway line that connects the town of Puy Guillaume and the commune of Croix de Pierre, five kilometres to the north.
