Introduction to Perros Guirec, France

The Breton town of Perros Guirec is located in the Cotes-d'Armor department of northwest France. This is a popular coastal resort offering beaches and plenty of opportunities to enjoy water sports. The most impressive attraction, however, is the incredible pink granite formations found along the seaside, after which the area is known as the Cote de Granit Rose. The popular sandy beaches, which are ideal for family holidays, are called Trestraou and Trestrignel. From hotels in Perros Guirec, visitors can easily reach France's biggest bird sanctuary in a nature reserve covering seven islands. More than 40kms of signposted walking and hiking trails lace the area. Port Ploumanach is a pretty harbour. A sailing school, two marinas, a surf club, a pair of diving centres and a centre for sea kayaking underscore the town's attraction for those seeking water sports. The airport at Lannion, about 20 minutes away by car, has few flights. Lannion also has train station, while the E50 Euroroute is about 40 minutes to the south, at Graces.
