Introduction to Paris - La Defense - Puteaux
The beautiful city of Paris is full of historical monuments and world-renowned attractions. However, it is also home to a spectacular, modern central business district that is commonly known as La Defense. It is located at the far western side of the famous Historical Axis, which is a 10-kilometre strip that contains many of the French capital’s historical delights. Some of the tallest skyscrapers in Paris are located in this business area, making it easy to get a good view over the district and its La Defense hotels. One of the most interesting structures in the district is the phenomenal Grande Arche, which was purposely built as a modern replica of the Arch de Triomphe. The Arche is a marvellous structure that has become the third arch along the Historical Axis of Paris.
