The Paris suburb of Clichy, around 10kms northwest of Notre Dame Cathedral and the city centre, is a part of the French capital’s 17th arrondissement. Clichy is mostly a residential district, with amazing Haussmannian houses and a business centre with companies such as L'Oreal headquartered here. Although it does not have any major tourist sites, the suburb is a great base for enjoying Paris attractions as Mairie de Clichy Station is on metro Line 13, which gives easy access. The Clichy hotels and backpacker hostels here are an economical option when compared with accommodation in the centre of Paris. Guests staying here will discover that they get glimpses of Paris as seen by Parisians. There are lots of ambient cafes and bars in the area. The Quai de Clichy defines the upper limits of the suburb and runs along the River Seine. Attractions nearby include the Jean-Jacques Henner Museum and Parc Monceau. The museum is dedicated to the works of the Alsace born painter while the park contains statues, architectural models such as an Egyptian pyramid and play areas.
