Located in an area of extreme natural beauty, the Gascony town of Parentis en Born lies just a few miles inland from the ocean in southwest France. Given its ocean-side location and the incredible surrounding countryside, the town is a hub for outdoor activities among visitors staying at hotels in Parentis en Born. Yet the town also boasts sites of historic interest, such as the Church of St Pierre, which dates from the 16th century. The real star here, however, is nature. Just to the west of town is Lake Biscarrosse, which boasts clear, fresh water. In the 1930s, French seaplanes were tested here.
