Introduction to Nice - Vieille Ville
Nice, on France’s Mediterranean coast, a few miles from the border with Italy, has for a long time been one of the premier resort towns of Europe. Though the city has expanded to a considerable degree, many beautiful old streets full of historic buildings remain for tourists to enjoy from hotels in Nice. Tours of its historic areas, in particular the Old Town known as Nice Vieille Ville, can be enjoyed on foot or by bicycle, both of which provide great scope to enjoy the many attractions. Head to the Cours Saleya to enjoy the morning market in the heart of Old Nice, or simply stroll the narrow lanes lined with shuttered apartments and boutiques. The airport, which lies a few minutes outside of the city, sees flights from a wide range of cities around the world. The central rail station is close by, giving excellent access to many SNCF rail services, as well as the TGV train, which takes six hours to reach Paris.Visit our Nice Travel Guide
