Introduction to Nice - Centre Ville Gare
The most populated city on the French Riviera is Nice, which is also the fifth-biggest city in France. Hotels in Nice are ideal places to stay on a French Riviera holiday, not only because of their close proximity to most of the city’s locations, but also because they are not far from other French Riviera destinations, and tend to be cheaper and more relaxed than those found in other French Riviera resorts. The harbour area is a highlight with its crumbling Colline de Chateau. Culture buffs will likely prefer to spend their time hanging out in the city’s numerous museums, from the Museum of Asian Art to the Musee Matisse. The maze of narrow alleys that is the Old Town makes for a charming stroll. Here visitors will discover a colourful flower market alongside boutiques and cafes. The stony beaches that dot the coastline of Nice are not the nicest in the area, with many visitors preferring to daytrip to softer sand beaches nearby. Gourmands will want to sample the city’s best known dishes, from socca (chickpea flatbread) to pan bagnat (tuna sandwich).Visit our Nice Travel Guide
