Introduction to Metz, France
Capital of France’s Lorraine region, Metz is close to the borders of Luxembourg and Germany. Centrally located hotels in Metz are best for seeing what the city has to offer visitors. The old town features many buildings constructed from local yellow limestone and the shopping area is accessible on foot even though it is a bit hilly in places. If you opt for one of the Metz hotels further from the centre the public transport is preferable to driving in the city. In the old town, the cathedral is impressive with some outstanding stained glass windows and is nicely situated with city and river views. Adjacent is the Place d'Armes flanked by buildings designed to illustrate the balance of power in the town. Markets are regularly held nearby selling delicious locally produced cheeses and meats. The train station is located on the edge centre where several moderately priced Metz hotels can be found.other spellings: metzhotels, metz otel, metz hotell, hote in metz, mets hotes
