Le Prieure Hotel Chenehutte - Saumur

It took 4 centuries to build the medieval manor house where Le Prieure Hotel Chenehutte is located on the outskirts of the Loire Valley community of Chenehutte. A count rebuilt this long abandoned castle in the early 20th century, and it has been a luxurious hotel since 1957. Each of the 21 rooms inside the manor’s main building and the 15 rooms within its six surrounding smaller residences are uniquely and elaborately decorated with antiques, impressive wall hangings and wildflower bouquets. The 2 dining rooms are no less impressive, especially the wine cellar where over 10,000 bottles are stored. Both dining rooms overlook the Loire River and endless parkland, where guests can enjoy a leisurely stroll after their meals. Visitors can even conduct their own archaeological expeditions on the hotel grounds, which also feature a miniature golf course, a tennis court and a heated outdoor pool.
