Located in Savoie, close to the Italian border, La Tania is part of the world's largest ski area, Les Trois Vallees, which can be accessed using a single pass. With more than 400 miles of skiable pistes within this connected chain of resorts, visitors to La Tania have numerous nearby options to venture farther afield. The resort itself was built for the 1992 Albertville Winter Olympics, meaning the facilities are good and relatively new, including a large number of snow cannons that keep the pistes running all season long whether there is snow falling or not. The town itself is quiet, with no traffic and a handful of amenities including an ATM, a tourist office and a number of bars and restaurants as well as ski-hire places. La Tania hotels are sparse, with just a few chalets and larger-scale accommodation on offer in and around the main ski village.
