Introduction to La Croix Valmer, France
Lying right in the southeast of France, close to St Tropez and just a mile from the Mediterranean coast, La Croix Valmer is a picturesque village in the department of Var. The town itself is small, but makes an excellent base for accessing the surrounding area, including Monaco, Italy, the Alps and the succession of excellent beaches and coves that make up the surrounding Cote d'Azur. The nearest beach here is almost within walking distance, and a little farther afield to the north is Gassin Golf Country Club as well as the much larger high-end resort of St Tropez. The town is home to a number of old buildings, particularly beach villas that feature classic sun-bleached Mediterranean facades in attractive multi-pastel colours.
