Tucked into the French Pyrenees is the beautiful resort destination of Ax-les-Thermes, packed with natural attractions alongside modern amenities. Water plays a major role in the makeup of this village as three notable rivers converge in the heart of town. As its name suggests, the town is famous for its 60-odd natural hot springs. Over the past 200 years, a thriving spa industry has grown up around these natural attractions and the town now acts as a major spa retreat destination Many of the Ax-les-Thermes hotels provide some kind of connection to thermal spring spa services. Of course, there are lots of other activities available besides from soaking in the water. The Ax 3 Domaines is a modern winter sports facility located in the town that provides excellent skiing when the snow falls. There are only a couple of streets in the village, but they contain places to eat, drink and shop. At the heart of town is the Lepers Pond, a large hot water pool that is the site of many local festivals.
