Introduction to Frejus - Agay
In a tiny nook on the French Riviera sits the natural bay of Agay, a village 20kms west of Cannes and 10kms east of Saint-Raphael and neighbouring Frejus in Var. With Antheor Mountain to the east and the cape of Le Dramont to the west, Agay hotels are serene and secluded, separated from the rest of St Raphael by the Esteral National Forest. There are two white sand beaches, Plage la Baumette and Agay Plage, and a weekly market in the town centre that features an antique market in the summer. Every tourist can find something to do in the area, which offers hiking trails, water sports, casinos, mini golf, cinemas and other nature and recreational activities. There are museums, art galleries and a cultural centre in nearby Saint-Raphael, but Agay is much quieter than its surrounding cities, with only a few shops and cafes. Two islands sit on each side outside the cove, Ile d'Or and Ile des Vieilles, which are popular excursions for tourists. There is a railway station in town that connects travellers to the rest of the coast and to the closest airport, Nice Cote d'Azur Airport. Agay is a perfect getaway for those looking for quiet and relaxation.
