Introduction to Ducey, France

Ducey, France is a small community whose location lies in the Manche department of the nation's Normandy region. There are a couple of Ducey hotels in addition to vacation rentals, all of which are convenient for anyone planning to visit nearby Mont-Saint-Michel. Although one of France's most historic and famous landmarks is just 17kms away, Ducey has an interesting history in its own right. A castle called Montgomery is the best known local attraction even though this 17th century structure is currently being renovated. This community also contains one of the region's oldest stone bridges, which was built in 1613, spans the Selune River, and is part of the path pilgrims traditionally take to Mont-Saint-Michel. The Selune River and the lakes which surround it are all filled with salmon and trout. The community can also be explored on no fewer than four separate hiking tours. Fireworks, a flea market, and a flower parade are all part of the annual summer festival during the first weekend of every August.
